How It Works


Our goal at SmARTworks for Artists is to make the process simple and clear-cut so all your creative energy is used for your art and not on the nitty-gritty computer stuff. We want to make it really easy for you to get your work out in the world. Because, let’s face it,  the world needs your art.

 

 Step-by-Step

Choose the services you need and click the “Add to Cart” button. Note: some services (websites, writing, and our smARTworks package) require a 50% deposit to begin our work.

After we receive your payment, we will send an email within two business days to confirm your payment, schedule a consultation if needed, and detailed instructions for the next steps to take. We'll make the process simple and painless for you. Promise!

After we receive all your materials (template choice, photos, and other information) we will open your Squarespace account, assist with choosing a domain name (or help you transfer an existing one), and schedule your website build. It usually takes about two weeks after we have all your materials.

Once your project is completed and we receive your final approval, we will invoice you for the remaining balance.

Now, give yourself a pat on the back for magically making hours of tedious computer work disappear. (Poof!) And giving yourself more time to do what you do best…make art! 

 
 

FAQs


  • Can I sell my art from my new website?

    Sure! You will need either a PayPal Business account or a Stripe account to accept payments on your website.

  • What if I want to add more images after you finish my website design?

    Included in our fee to build your website is a Zoom or phone tutorial to teach you how to add new images yourself. Or we can update your website with your new photos at our hourly fee of $60.

  • I already have a domain name. Can I use it with my new website?

    Absolutely! Not a problem. We can give you step-by-step instructions on how to transfer your domain name.

  • Will I have a chance to make changes?

    Before we wrap up your website and send you the final invoice, you’ll have a chance to make revisions. We want you to love your new website…obviously!

  • Can you help me if I want to update my website in the future?

    Of course! We are happy to do all your updates if you don’t want to. After all, you need to be in the studio, right? We charge our hourly fee of $60 for all updates.

  • Why do all your website templates have white (or light) backgrounds?

    Ahhh….we get that question a lot! Nothing should interfere with viewing your art on your website; dark or colored backgrounds will affect the colors of your artwork. And that’s not representing your art in the best possible light. Most design experts recommend high contrast between your images and the background. And, of course, the writing is much easier to read on a white/light background. So let’s keep things clean and simple to show off your gorgeous work! But if you insist on a hot pink background…we can always arm wrestle!
